The department has organized Forestry and Enviornment Symposia annually since 1995 in order to provide a forum for the presentation of research papers, concept papers and review papers and to discuss the major issues identified by these papers.

Research studies presented in these symposia were in the fileds of forestry, environment and natural resource management: Agroforestry,  Bio-diversity,  Community Forestry,   Eco-tourism,  Forest Biology, Forest Ecology,  Forest Economics,  Forest Policy,  Forest Products,  Forest Soils
Land Use Planning,  Pollution,  Silviculture and  Watershed Management.
